CHARLESTON, S.C. ? A new grant from Google will help WINGS for kids spread the word that social and emotional education helps kids succeed, WINGS CEO Ginny Deerin announced Monday.
The grant, through Google’s AdWords program, could add up to as much as $10,000 a month based on the number of times that users click on WINGS ads at $1 a click.
“We are proud to get this vote of confidence from Google, which is known for smart innovation,” Deerin said. “WINGS is always striving to find innovative ways to reach more kids and communicate the benefits of social and emotional smarts, and this will help us link people throughout the world with the Charleston nonprofit.”
Google, which processes more than 150 million online searches a day, offers in-kind keyword advertising to support nonprofits and help them raise awareness and increase Internet traffic. Google Grants are offered only to organizations whose mission the company supports, specifically in the areas education, technology, global public health, the environment, youth advocacy and the arts.
