I like children’s books – I always have. The cheerfulness just makes sense to me. Maybe it brings out my inner child? So, when "Things with Wings" came my way a smile spread from ear to ear.

"Things with Wings" is just that – a picture book about critters with wings. Imagination takes flight when babies (and adults) get their hands on this book. It’s hard not to – the pictures are bold, bright, vivid. At WINGS, we recite the words “I understand others are unique. I want to learn more about everyone I meet.” "Things with Wings" teaches these words through illustrations – and our Creed comes to life.   This might be a baby’s first step towards social and emotional intelligence.

very cool...

I love that this book is chewable and that each bird has something about them that makes them unique. For example, they are described as the soaring eagle, a gliding owl, a traveling goose, a glowing firefly, a serene dragonfly, a mischievous housefly, a perky hummingbird, a self-assured bee, a peaceful dove, a playful bat, a confident crow and a glamorous butterfly. I think that is really cool and makes me think that each one is supposed to have a different strength. The butterfly is good at being glamorous while the crow is good at being confident. Very cool...

Different animal, same goal!

This book looks very cute. You're right, "I understand other are unique" is a great line kids should learn at an early age. When you have something fun like animals to relate that expression to, it helps them understand it better. All animals are unique and different in their own special way, but they want to achieve the same goal and have one thing in common: flying with their WINGS!!

You can also eat this series of books!

Read more about them and you'll see.  Great for babies who always want to chew on things.  Also there is a guarantee that they will not tear!

Cute

Sounds like a great book. The earlier you can teach kids the 5 social and emotional learning skills the better. At WINGS our kids are divided into Nests and each Nest is assigned a bird name. When we do our social skills activities with the kids they are done with their Nests. We have Bluebirds, Eagles, Herons, Hawks, Doves, Egrets, etc. So I always enjoy seeing anything about birds for kids! Let's all soar like birds!
