The Center for Social and Emotional Education, CSEE, has launched a bullying initiative called BullyBust to make schools safer and they've posted some very useful resources that do a great job of building social skills to deter this insidious threat. Their School Climate blog also gave space to WINGS to tell how using the Creed gave a big boost to improving school climate at our program sites.

Step into the shoes....
This is a great resource. I love WINGS' blog post as well. The Creed is such an easy way to help kids understand that bullying is just not ok. Our kids are challenged each day to think of ways to step into the shoes of others. This is very easy during our social skills activities because kids naturally pick on other kids. Our WINGSLeaders know to ask the "teaser" to step into the shoes of the "teasee." They challenge the kids to think about how it would feel to be the one that is getting teased. Bullying starts small and grows. With the Creed, we can stop it before it grows.
