Check out this fun and useful list of ideas for weaving social and emotional learning into the classroom, whether you have 5 minutes, 5 days, 5 weeks or 5 months. It's from Edutopia, a great resource that helps spread the word about the power of SEL. http://www.edutopia.org/louisville-sel-replication-tips

Edutopia is a great SEL resource

I love looking on Edutopia for great ideas. Not only does the website provide innovative ways for anyone to bring in social and emotional learning skills into the classroom and at home, but it also has great insight as to why social and emotional learning skills are so important. Their recent article features research and studies as to why childhood play is so important. Not only is outdoor play important to decrease childhood obesity, but it also teaches kids how to problem solve on their own, for example, learning to share jump rope, as well as relationship skills (basketball).
