Edutopia Euphoria

Last March Grace Rubenstein from Edutopia visited our program and corporate office for 3 days. We met with staff members, principals, WINGSLeaders, kids, etc. And she spent two full days in the program. She has been to schools all over the country so as her "guide" I was curious as to how she felt about her visit.

I soon found out that instead of the small feature Edutopia was planning to publish, they decided to feature us as a "School that Works" even though we technically are not a school. And after several months of anticipation, I was exuberant to read our feature. It is evident to me that Grace was blown away by WINGS.

It feels good to watch people's faces (including Grace’s) as they visit our program and observe our kids and staff in action. The way we teach social and emotional skills is bold, innovative and fun.

One thing I am most proud to say is that WINGS in real life is the same as WINGS on paper. I have seen many programs that looked very different on paper than when you visit.

The Edutopia feature really nailed what we are and what we are all about. So, as you can imagine we are experiencing Edutopia euphoria around here for a little while.

Check out the feature here.
