 Daniel Goleman, who popularized the term emotional intelligence, rightly proclaims Malcolm Gladwell’s new book “Outliers” as good news for anyone who would like to see success in life widely shared. Goleman points out in his blog that “one way to give every child a greater chance for career success – and a good life in general – would be to have curricula in social and emotional learning a standard part of schooling.

As the inauguration nears, we thought readers would like to know the results of our public survey of how the candidates stack up in terms of their emotional intelligence.

People who completed the survey think Obama has higher EQ than McCain two to one.  Ditto for Biden vs Palin.
