Keep It Up!
It’s a new year – time for a fresh start and the setting of resolutions and goals. After the hustle and bustle of the holidays, January is the perfect month to start over and stay focused on working towards something. Maybe it's to drop some of those holiday pounds you packed on or maybe you want to spend less in order to save money. No matter what goal you set, it always seems to go pretty well at the beginning because you are motivated and excited, but as the winter drags on, sticking to your goals becomes harder and harder.
When it comes to sticking to the goals you set at the start of the year for more than just a month or two, it's important for you to persevere. We have some tips for you to “keep" it up throughout the year and achieve your goals.
Keep distractions away: In order to stick with it, you must keep distractions away. This means if your goal is save money don’t get distracted by a great sale.
Keep away from negative people and things: If your goal is to lose weight, don’t keep your favorite cookies in the pantry or get peer pressured into getting dessert when out with friends. Try to surround yourself with people and things that help you move towards your end goal!
Keep a positive attitude: Achieving goals is not easy. Sometimes, it’s difficult to see progress, but you have to remain positive. As you strive to reach your goals, don’t doubt yourself. There are going to be good and bad days, just remember to stay positive.
Keep trying: When you miss a workout don’t get down on yourself and then give up on your goal of working out daily. Start over the next day and make sure you give 120%.
Whatever the goal may be, when trying to persevere, it is important to keep all of these ideas in mind. In the end, if you set a goal and are determined enough, you can achieve it. Stay motivated not only at the start of the year – “keep it up” until you reach your goal!
