A Bear in the WINGS Nest

Former Chicago Bear Running Back Adrian Peterson visited WINGS for Kids at Memminger Elementary School with the message that hard work pays off.  Mr. Peterson, who has had a life long speech impediment in the form of a stutter, shared his story of overcoming obstacles with 120 WINGS kids on Monday.  Now a motivational speaker focused on urging kids to stay in school, reject peer pressure and develop good habits, Mr. Peterson encouraged our little birds to pursue their dreams and also emphasized the importance of support systems such as family and role models, like our WINGSLeaders.

When one little WINGS boy asked Mr. Peterson what perseverance means to him, he replied, "If you want something, you have to go and get it.  Every day is not going to be a good day."  Sounds like the WINGS way to us!
