He has WINGS

Matt Bosher

For his commitment to serving the Atlanta community, this Falcon has WINGS on and off the field!

Last month, punter Matt Bosher was named 2012 Atlanta Falcons Man of the Year- an honor that recognizes a player's off-the-field service to their community. This prestigious distinction is given to one player from each team in the NFL, and puts them in the running for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award, with the final selection to be announced over halftime at Super Bowl XLVII.

Matt earned this title by dedicating his time and energy throughout Atlanta in many capacities including visiting Atlanta emergency service men and women, going to local elementary schools to encourage fitness, co-hosting 250 women and children for a Thanksgiving meal at the Atlanta Mission, and participating in the Dazzle & Dine event honoring breast cancer survivors.

"Receiving an award like this is truly humbling," Bosher said. "I am very lucky and appreciate all the Atlanta Falcons organization has done to provide me with opportunities to give back to the community."

The Atlanta Falcons are a highly philanthropic flock so there were many contenders for man of the year. Alongside Bosher, teammates Kevin Cone, Stephen Nicholas and Sean Weatherspoon were also worthy nominees up for this honor. The Falcons franchise is known for their generosity and community involvement with even their team slogan of ‘Rise Up' challenging players and the community to get involved and better Atlanta. This call of action has translated to far more than words, becoming a movement with programs suchas Rise Up Atlanta, Atlanta Falcons Youth Foundation, Read with a Falcon, Hometown Huddle, and more.

They say that birds of a feather flock together, and having just spread our wingspan to include Atlanta this past August, we're happy to find ourselves in such high-flying company!

Matt- from our flock to yours, we say thank you and congratulations, for not only your impact in the Atlanta community, but for an amazing season. Next year- Super Bowl
