WINGS nabs highest rating from Charity Navigator!

Recently WINGS was awarded a 4-star rating, the highest possible rating from Charity Navigator. Charity Navigator is America's premier independent charity evaluator — so we're thrilled! Their website is viewed by over 3.3 million unique individuals yearly, which is more than all other charity rating groups combined. Forbes, Business Week, and Kiplinger's Financial Magazine, among others, have profiled and celebrated their unique method of applying data-driven analysis to the philanthropic sector.

Over 5,000 charities are featured on their site, and of those, less than a third are rated with 4 stars. A 4-star rating is defined as "Exceptional: Exceeds industry standards and outperforms most charities in its Cause." Ratings are determined by an evaluation of the charity's organizational efficiency and organizational capacity, and we excelled in both categories. Organizational efficiency reflects how well we manage WINGS' finances day-to-day; answering questions such as "Do we spend the bulk of donations on our programs? What is our ability to leverage fundraising dollars? How well do we keep overhead down?" Scoring highly in organizational capacity demonstrates our ability to manage and sustain our programs, especially during uncertain funding environments. Programs that sustain are able to make lasting, systemic changes.

Impacting approximately $10 billion of charitable donations each year, it is obvious people trust Charity Navigator.

We've always known investing in WINGS is a wise decision, but we are certainly excited to see others are recognizing it as well!
