Creed College Park!

In celebration of completing our very first year in Atlanta, we decided to have a little fun last month! So, in an effort to inform and excite people in College Park, GA about WINGS, we let our staff loose on the community to spread the word and recognize those they spotted living the WINGS Creed. We Creeded College Park!

The College Park community is located in South Fulton County and home to the WINGS kids we serve at S.L. Lewis and Heritage Elementary Schools.

The WINGS Creed is essentially the ABC’s of social and emotional learning (SEL), so it’s an easy way for people to get an idea of what it is we teach during our programs.

Our corporate staff and 16 part-time WINGSLeaders from Spelman College, Morehouse College, and Georgia State University were split into two teams and given two objectives: 1- inform people they encountered about what WINGS is doing in their community, and 2- be on the lookout for, and acknowledge people living the Creed, or as we say, Creed them! Each attempt at “Creeding” or informing a member of the community meant points for that team.

So armed with Creed Cards and a whole lot of enthusiasm, we ambushed the College Park community and businesses!

Members of the Heritage team took over Zupp Park by shouting the Creed for everyone to hear and in one instance, creeded a kid who was showing support and trust to another by pushing him on the swing sets.

S.L. Lewis team members made their way to many local businesses and at one point creeded a woman who went out of her way to be kind and caring by letting someone with less groceries than herself get into line in front of her.

At the end of the day, Heritage Elementary had accrued the most points, and while we consider the real winners here to be our kids, Team Heritage was awarded a prize and eternal bragging rights for Creeding College Park!
