Did you feel that EQ Earthquake?
This spring has seen an Emotional Intelligence groundswell
The national spotlight has been shining on Emotional Intelligence and EQ more and more via articles in The New York Times, Forbes, Inc., Fast Company, and The Washington Post. So, it's no surprise this attention has continue to fuel the EQ movement. Spring 2014 has seen serious Emotional Intelligence action and we couldn't be prouder to be a part of the momentum. Below are two highlights from just last month!
Last month, more than 12,000 people and organizations from around the world participated in EQ Week -- a week-long 24/7 virtual information exchange. Not only did WINGS participate, we presented. Bridget Laird, CEO, shared on Social and Emotional Skill Development for Life's Everyday Moments. Six Seconds, the organization who hosts EQ Week, considers themselves "the Emotional Intelligence network" and aims to support "1 billion people practicing Emotional Intelligence." We support that, too! WINGS was very honored to be a part of EQ Week's global movement.
On March 20th, over 3,000 schools and non-profits hosted premiere screenings of "The Science of Character," a vibrant 8 minute documentary from Tiffany Shlain, creator of the Webby Awards and a TED speaker. At WINGS, all seven of our programs watched and participated in #CharacterDay and we joined in on the conversations that happened online via Twitter and Facebook. Not only did the WINGS team partake, we recruited friends, family and corporations to give up 8 minutes of their lunch break to watch and support the Emotional Intelligence movement.
