Research

WINGS places a high value on research and evaluation.

For our first seven years of existence, The University of South Carolina under the leadership of Jean Ann Linney, Ph.D. conducted the research and evaluation of WINGS. Dr. Linney is now the Vice President and Associate Provost of the University of Notre Dame.

Our current research partner is Yale University, under the leadership of Marc Brackett, Ph.D., Associate Director, Health, Emotion, and Behavior Laboratory. This laboratory was established by Peter Salovey, Ph.D., widely considered to be one of the founders of the theory of emotional intelligence. Dr. Brackett has published extensively on the validity of emotional intelligence and co-authored an intervention program, Emotional Literacy in the Middle School.

We provide you with research and evaluation information specific to Wings and also other research and evaluation information about SEL and afterschool programs. Click the links to the left.
