The Mentor Walk

On Saturday, September 26, 2015, more than 50 WINGS kids in 4th and 5th grades attended the 2015 Mentor Walk at Atlanta Technical College.  The Mentor Walk provides a forum for stimulating conversations, networking for educators, principals, counselors, student clubs, mentoring groups, children’s centers, health organizations and social entrepreneurs. It encourages student graduation and college attendance.

Despite the rainy weather, WINGS kids, along with hundreds of kids from other youth-serving organizations, were able to participate in activity sessions on healthy eating, video learning games, scientific experiments, and more. They also received backpacks, ate lunch, and heard from experts who can help prepare them for college. All in all, a flaptastic day!
