How can I get involved?

WINGS Homework Helper

Time Commitment: 1-4 hours per week

  • Serve as WINGSLeader assistant for an Academic Center

  • Participate in Academic Center training and observation

  • Days and hours of service can be flexible, but consistent schedule is preferred

  • Report to assigned WINGS program at least once a week and assist with Academic Center

  • Report to same Academic Center each day, become a regular part of that Academic Center

Feedin’ the Flock

Time Commitment: 1-5 hours per week

  • Participate in Kids Café training and observation

  • Set up tables and seating in the cafeteria

  • Fix plates according to the Kids Café Minimum Serving Guidelines 

  • Serve plates to the children 

  • Tidy up the kitchen after meals

WINGSLeader Intern 

Time Commitment:  8-12 hours per week

  • Serve as WINGSLeader Intern

  • Report to assigned WINGS program 2 to 3 days per week, 4 hours per day

  • Create schedule with WINGS contact that will work for you

  • Assist with any program-related tasks throughout the day

  • Possible to become official, paid Substitute WINGSLeader

Substitute WINGSLeader

Time Commitment:  23 hours per week maximum 

  •  Hired as Substitute WINGSLeader, a paid, part-time position 

  • Work at programs as needed (filling in for other WINGSLeaders)

  • Work anywhere from 5-23 hours per week at $10 per hour 

  • Possible to become official part-time AmeriCorps WINGSLeader
