Randomized Control Trial Study

Executive Summary: Randomized Control Trial (RCT) Study

WINGS is committed to collecting data and evaluating our programs to ensure we are having a measurable impact on the kids we serve. We know research speaks volumes, which is why our SEL curriculum and professional development workshops are evidence-based and we engage in research studies, reviews, and evaluations.

We’re proud and excited to share our most rigorous evaluation to date — a randomized control trial (RCT) study evaluating the impact of the WINGS Afterschool SEL program on our students. To date, it is the only RCT study on the impact of SEL in an afterschool setting.

The RCT study provides evidence of the positive impact on academic performance and classroom behavior resulting from the explicit teaching of social emotional skills to at-risk students during afterschool hours.
