Let’s show up for ourselves! As afterschool professionals and educators, we are constantly showing up for others, whether it’s leading a program, mentoring staff, or intentionally providing a safe place for children. By understanding and practicing self-awareness and self-management skills, we will identify the strengths and emotions you need in your toolkit in order to nurture yourself and support others. We’ll also name current stressors and provide techniques to help you cope. (These coping methods can be used with your students, too!)

Being valued feels good. Through social awareness and relationship skills, you can help students create a community where everyone feels valued and empowered to be their best selves. We’re sharing our proactive behavior management techniques that will help you and your students focus on the positive. And, we’re giving you some easy takeaways to help you create rituals that support students and create an environment where ALL kids feel welcomed — and you feel proud.
Connecting to Adults Through SEL

Leading – and motivating – a team can be exhausting. We’ve found that creating a culture of accountability is the key to success. Through responsible decision-making and relationship skills, you and the adults on your team will learn four ways to lead together with SEL. It’s about ownership, feedback, support, and teamwork. Sounds simple, but so many teams struggle and we can help!
